The question has recently been raised in another Colony

whether, when the Attorney General appears on behalf of the Crown in

any cose in which costs are awarded against the opposite party, his fees

as Counsel should be included in the Crown bill of costs and, if 80,

whether the amount allowed on taxation of the bill as professional fees

to the Attorney General should be paid into the Colonial Treasury,

retained by him.

The practice appears to vary in different Colonies, and I

should therefore be glad if you would inform me of the practice which

obtains in the Colony under your Government.
